BAKU Street Dog Rescue began with a mission to save abandoned and stray dogs in New York. Every dog deserves love, care, and a second chance at life.

Our founder, Maritza Fitzgerald, dedicated herself to rescuing dogs from the streets, ensuring each one receives medical care, nourishment, and rehabilitation. Through community support and dedication, we’ve been able to transform the lives of countless dogs and place them in loving forever homes.

Our Mission

We are a Nonprofit Organization (NFP) committed to:

  • Rescuing street dogs from neglect, abuse, and abandonment

  • Providing veterinary care, high-quality food, and preventive treatment

  • Rehabilitating dogs physically and emotionally for adoption

  • Educating the public about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership
